It was a very special moment for everyone associated with Trevor Wingrove and the Coquitlam Junior Adanacs when Meghan Wingrove, Trevor’s daughter, raised #23 to the rafters of the Poirier Sports Centre forever.  Family, friends, teammates, and coaches took part in the June 5, 2013 ceremony that took place between the first and second periods of the Coquitlam Junior Adanacs and Langley Thunder game.  Both teams remained on the floor to pay tribute to Trevor Wingrove.

The family is forever grateful to have witnessed the highest honour a team could give a player.

This wasn’t the first time the Adanacs family paid tribute to Trevor Wingrove.  In 2010 both the Senior and Junior Adanacs wore T.W. 23 patches on their uniforms.  It was that year that the Coquitlam Junior Adanacs fulfilled a franchise goal of winning their first-ever Minto Cup Championship.

The last player to wear #23 for the Coquitlam Junior Adanacs was Robert Church:

“When Trevor passed away I felt honored to wear the same number that he did during his success with the Adanacs. I wanted to honor him by playing with class, which is exactly how I heard he played. Lucky enough we were able to win the Minto Cup with his honorary patch on our jersey, which was a great accomplishment for our team.”
